I’ve often thought about doing book reviews. I read two or three books per week on my own and leave reviews for these authors at Amazon, Goodreads, and sometimes on my blog. So why not offer to review books for others? Great way to get some free reading material, right? 🙂
I’m not a big outfit…just me and occasionally my husband…so I don’t have a scoring system (yet) or any of the fancy pages other reviewers have. I’d like to some day, but we’ll get there.
So here goes…
We are happy to review books from all authors (self-published, indie, traditional). Our reviews go on Amazon, Goodreads, and various blogs. If you would like your review posted elsewhere, let us know.
If we find significant issues with your book that would lead to a very negative review, we will discuss those points with you before publishing our review, as we believe all authors should have the chance to benefit from the insights of their readers without being forever penalized by a negative review.
UPDATE 10/5/12: I realize I need to narrow the field a bit as I am getting so many requests for reviews! Â Below are the genres and formats that I prefer.
What does a Book Review cost? Nothing to you, unless you need to ‘gift’ the book to me on Amazon. I don’t pay for books that I review, so please don’t just send me links to your book and expect me to buy it and review it.
GENRES: Memoir, young adult, historical fiction, dystopian/post-apocalyptic fiction, ghost type stories (think Lovely Bones) and most science fiction.
For now, I am not reviewing political thrillers, westerns, romances, or non-fiction. I NEVER review books containing erotica, satanism, or major violence. This is not because I think adversely about those genres; they are just not the types of books I enjoy reading.
Unpublished works: I am happy to offer you a review of your unpublished work IF it is completed. If it needs editing or major work, I will email you and let you know that I’ll be happy to review when you have completed editing it. If you need help with editing, I do offer that service for a fee.
FORMATS: I prefer a free download from Amazon or a pdf doc that I can download to my Kindle.

My PDF versions of my books are all during the edit process. The final edited versions are the finished book product. Only the publisher has those.
