I had to have a stress test this morning and was very nervous and anxious about it. Throughout the whole thing I heard this song playing in my head and was comforted. I came home and made this journal page so I would never forget it.
I had created the background earlier…simply leftover paint from other projects. I frequently ‘clean’ off my brush my swiping it onto later pages for future use. This particular spread also got spritzed with Dylusions Ink Spray (lemon zest) right after I bought the spray…I was playing with it to see what it did.
I cut the castle out from an old book page and watercolored the roofs. The song is just on standard watercolor paper and then cut out into pieces. I applied marker below each strip and immediately smeared it with my finger. Added a few stamps and covered the entire thing with matte medium. I love how the matte medium smeared the yellow ink over the strips.
As is my usual routine, I had to play with it on the computer. This one is simply ‘bleached’.
Neat! I like the idea of art journaling. Looks like a lot of creative fun. It is just intimidating to me as it looks like a whole lot of work. Maybe one day I’ll give it a try. For now I just write in my journal with the occasional drawing.
