How do you help the homeless?

I posed this question on my blog a few weeks ago. I was quite surprised to find out that many people did not want to answer the question. It is a question that makes us squirm, brings up feelings we don’t want to deal with, causes us to ask ourselves why we should help people ‘who don’t want to help themselves’.

The beauty of this book of conversations with street people is that we learn that we – as human beings – are all fallible, yet we all deserve to be treated with respect. The people you meet – and they are real live breathing people on the streets of Ontario, Canada – may be alcoholics and drug addicts (some of them), but they are human beings. Their stories will move you. Hopefully, their stories will spur you to do more to help make their lives a bit easier.

Be honest with yourself. How do YOU help the homeless? Take the poll here. And after you honestly that question, ask yourself how you will help the homeless from now on.

Working with Dennis Cardiff has been an incredible experience. He has taught me much about compassion, friendship, and respect for my fellow man.

Gotta Find A HomeGotta Find a Home: Conversations with Street People will open your eyes to a world that has been right in front of you all along. And you will be richer for the experience.

I hope you will join Dennis and I for the book launching party on Tuesday, June 10th on Facebook.

You can read more about the book (there will be THREE of them!) on our website.
