I’m sorry but I just have to post this one…sometimes you just gotta have a good laugh in this business.
Posted on iFreelance.com jobs board:
Description: Collabrating my book project, experienced, NY Time, best selling Author or Published author required for this project.
Estimated Budget: Between $250 and $499
Expected Delivery: Within 10 days of project award
If I am reading this correctly, the poster is looking for a NY Times bestselling author to “collabrate” with them on a book, and they only want to pay this bestselling author less than $500 to complete the work in 10 days!
Seriously, folks, what planet do these people come from???
Had to have a laugh here. Good one 😀
I must admit people or “clients” on freelance websites are lost in some un-real different world while posting jobs. Not all, but most. I have seen weird postings something like:
“Excellent writer needed who has a knack of writing great pieces
I am VERY particular about schedules so do not apply unless absolutely sure you’d stick to mine
Only SERIOUS writers need to apply
No plagiarism tolerated!
Along with the writing, I’d like the writer to upload pictures and files on my website.
I’d also like them to proofread my old articles uploaded”
—–Blah Blah Blah—–
—-And then the shining statement comes forth. After hearing all the yada yada here it goes.—-
I am willing to pay $2 per article.
And I literally burst out laughing and go “Wtf?” 😛
Good read, thanks for making my break from writing worthwhile!
